Hatch 4 Schools Programme

Our aim is to provide an educational experience for all, bringing the joy of watching eggs hatching, and chicks emerging from their shells, right to your door.

Whether you work in a school or creche, students can watch with excitement and awe as chicks begin hatching in the classroom.

With the wonder of seeing an egg hatch and watching the  newly hatched chicks, children and adults alike will be fascinated by our program.

The hatch 4 schools programme is simple to run and it comes with clear operating instructions, on-call service and detailed resources for students and teachers.

Book with us today to experience nature’s wonder!

Delivery normally occurs on a Monday or Tuesday morning.  We take great care when “candling” to ensure that, to the best of our knowledge, there is a living embryo inside our eggs at the time of delivery.  Our knowledgeable staff will set up the equipment and take their time to explain everything you need to know.  But don’t worry if you can’t remember it all, as an in-depth information manual is left on site, re-iterating all the important points and much more!   And for all you expectant mother hens, we are only a phone call away.  Our advice line is available 7 days a week, 7am until 10pm.

Experience wonder from the moment we deliver.  You will see eggs wobble and often hear cheeping from within the egg, just before hatching commences.  At this point, why don’t you cluck to the chick? (often a great source of amusement).  But it does work, listen in amazement as the chick cheeps back.

Temperature and humidity levels are closely controlled in sophisticated machinery during the main incubation period.  This enables us to ensure a midweek hatch in your school.  The hatching process is normally complete by thursday evening of the first week.  Every moment can be observed through our 360 degree, high visability hatcher.  So you shouldn’t have to miss a thing!

Once dry and fluffy, the chicks are transferred to our brooder box.  We provide a heat lamp, bedding, food and drinker.  Everything the chicks need.  The brooder box is lightweight and can be moved easily into different rooms if needed.  You can now enjoy personalities and little characters develop.  Which one will be your favourite?

On thursday or friday of the following week, our staff will return to collect all of the equipment and the chicks.  Its a sad moment for many of our customers, when they have to say goodbye.  But we try and bring bigger chicks so that the students can see how quickly the chicks will grow up and why a farm is a better place for them.

All the chicks return to Inagh Free Range Farm a family run farm in Co. Clare.  You can rest assured that none of your chicks will go to commercial hatcheries and you can come and visit them if you like!
